Description

Aorust is a high-contrast display serif of exceptional drama and classical authority. Published by Indotype Foundry, it channels the grandeur of Didone serif tradition into a contemporary display typeface built for the moments where typography must do everything — communicate prestige, command attention, and define an entire brand’s visual register in a single word.

Extreme stroke contrast is Aorust’s defining quality: vertical stems swell to commanding weight while horizontal hairlines thin to near-invisibility, generating a visual electricity that is instantly recognizable as the hallmark of luxury typographic design. The letterforms are wide and generously proportioned, with large open counters that maintain exceptional legibility at display scale. The A is the typeface’s most singular glyph — a dramatically peaked construction with a pointed interior counter that gives Aorust its most memorable and distinctive visual signature. Sharp, flat unbracketed serifs complete each letterform with mathematical precision, reinforcing the rational, contemporary dimension of the design.
