Description

Gostaf is a bold, wobbly, deliberately imperfect handmade display typeface that celebrates everything polished digital typography tries to eliminate. Designed by Indotype Foundry, Gostaf is built on a simple and radical premise: too human to be perfect. Wobbly lines. Odd shapes. Questionable decisions. We kept them all. No rulers. No perfect edges. Just letters doing their own thing — and doing it with complete, unapologetic confidence.

The letterforms are constructed from thick, pressure-varied brush strokes that carry the full physicality of a hand moving fast and freely across a surface with no intention of going back to fix anything. Each character bears its own particular irregularities: edges that ripple rather than run straight, curves that wobble rather than arc cleanly, terminals that resolve in their own organic way rather than conforming to any system. This is not accidental — it is the entire point. The imperfections are the design. The wobble is the signature. The human hand is the aesthetic.
